Dear Henry, the world we live in is scary

Dear Henry, 

I read this article the other day about why millennials refuse to have kids and I wanted to tell you why we decided to bring you into a world like this. In a world of over population, in a world of celebrity worshiping, in a loveless world, a polluted world, where global warming, hate, war, bad parenting and selfishness,  are all too common... all of this is out there, it's true, so why would we want to bring you into this scary society? Why would we wish this life on you? I'll tell you why....

When I think of you and the man that you will become, I think of hope. You have been born into a family full of love. We will alway support you and what ever you want to do and whoever you want to become. I believe that if you are raised in a happy home, full of love, support and togetherness you will grow into a respectful human being that will make this world a better place. I believe that you are the future. If good people keep having kids and raise them to be good people, by the time you are an adult, or you are having kids, there will be less hate.  

There will always be stupid people having kids, there will always be abuse and neglect, people will always try to manipulate the system and turn kids into paychecks. Those people suck, but they will never go away, and we aren't worried about them and their existence. 

There will always be people who don't want kids, because not everyone needs to have kids. Not everyone was born to be a mom or a dad, and thats ok. Thats the great thing about the world, we can decide for ourselves. If someone is judging you because you don't want kids then screw them. If someone is judging you because you want a bunch of kids, screw them. This is your world, and your life and no one can take that away from you. 

We can't worry, judge or be anyone else, so everyone just calm down about it. 

Henry, in your 11 weeks on earth you have shown to be stronger then anyone I know. You will take this world by storm, and your existence will make it a better place. I believe in you and I believe in our future. I am a lifetime proud of you and I will love you forever!
