Dear Jeni, a story about a girl who's showing cancer who's boss

Dear Jeni, a story about a girl who's showing cancer who's boss

If you aren't in a reading mood let me summarize. Jeni needs our help. She needs our prayers and positive energy. She is a wife, a mother, a daughter and a wonderful friend. She is smack dab in the middle of a fight against a horrific cancer. Please Share Jeni's story and let's add on to her prayer train. Read about her story, in her own words on her blog here.

Who is Jeni? Why am I writing about her today?

In 2010 I worked at the Cheesecake factory, serving, with a girl named Jeni. We went to the same parties, but we weren't really friends. A lot can change in 7 years. I was a more judgmental person back then, I made fun of a couple people at work, and Jeni set me straight, and told our bosses that I was a bully, from that day I wanted nothing to do with her, back then I thought she was a narc and a suck up. I realize now that I was, in fact, in that moment, a bully.

We have stayed friends on Facebook, and let me tell you about Jeni. She is a about as kind as they come. She has dedicated her life to good deeds, and leads a very faithfully devoted life. She has a relationship with God that I have never seen. She leads a very positive life full of love and faith.

Her smile is contagious. She is truly one of the most beautiful people, inside and out that I know.

In February 2016 after a healthy pregnancy, Jeni and her husband Adam welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Bentley.

In May, 2016, after some leg numbness and slurred speech and doctors visits she was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma cancer, that started in her lung. They found cancer in her brain, spinal cord, lymph nodes, liver, bones, bone marrow. She was given 3-6 month to live.

I have never spent so much time reading about cancer in my life, and crying for someone else. How can this happen to someone so positive, so in touch with her faith, so loving.

8 months later she is still in the fight. She's done it all... radiation, chemo, surgeries, biopsies, clinical trials. BUT, she has never lost her faith or her smile. She is brave and she is strong.

After everything seemed to being going down a positive path, last week I found out that after some frequent severe pain in her body, specifically her lower back, a new MRI showed new cancer growth in her brain. She will spend the next week or so getting radiation twice a day on her brain, while she still takes her "Chemo pill". There is not much that I can do to help her.... this is where we come in...

You guys have saved me, saved Henry, given my family strength. Your love, light, prayers, positive energy, and love (again) is so important to us. Today, I'm asking that you spread the love towards Jeni. Prayer for her. Think about her and her family. Positivity makes the world go round and Jeni needs us to be there for her. I'm just asking for prayers but she does have a go fund me page if you feel inclined to help her family financially.

Thank you all for your constent love and support!

Nikki
